Zoe Conference

It has been a great couple of days at Zoe this year. The worship is out of this world. I've been many places and been a part of many worship settings. There is none, in my experience, as awesome as the Zoe conference. It is so God focused, Jesus centered and Holy Spirit filled.

This year's theme is "Closer." One would think it would be filled with lessons about how to get closer to God. Jeff Walling spoke last night and helped us understand that God is already close to us. He said, "He even rode with you in the car on the way here." So simple and yet so profound!

God has been and is pursuing us all along. From the fall of man to the present, He is after us--and I don't mean "out to get us" in the negative way. He is trying to fulfill what we all need and that's a relationship with Him.

Mike Cope spoke tonight teaching on the story of Jacob's ladder. God is pursuing Jacob and He is found in a "certain place" which Jacob named "Bethel," or the house of God. We all find God at various times in our lives which are "Bethels" to us. Maybe you can think of some of those times in your life--a time when He felt so near, you could name the place the house of God.

God bless you all and remember that God is as near as your heart if He has been made the Lord of that heart. You don't have to seek Him, He will seek you in order to love you and take you home with Him one day.

Great Weekend

It was a good weekend this past week. Our high school band went to a regional championship in Murfreesboro, TN. It is the first major competition we will attend this year. My daughters Britney and Danielle and son Brandon are all a part of the band program. I think it is the best program in the whole school.

We did well. We finished third in our class along with winning the most outstanding music award. We've never done that well this early in the season. I am really proud of them.

Sunday was a great day at Creekside. We titled the day, "God's Awesome Ways." God says, "My ways are not like your ways." How true is that!!? We shared together through songs, readings, prayer, and testimony some ways that He is awesome in our lives.

Please pray for me as I prepare for a lesson series on the Holy Spirit. I think we have mised it on this one. I pray that God will annoint our church with a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We truly always need His power.

I hope you have a wonderful week in the Lord!!
