Atlanta BOA

Hey blog family! Pray for my kids this week. Britney, Brandon, and Danielle will be marching in the Georgia Dome on Saturday in the Bands of America competition. It is the largest and also the final competition of the year for them. The competition is high and very difficult to be in the top ten. That's where they have to be in order to make it to the finals.

We will be there on Saturday and on Sunday, the band director is taking the kids to Six Flags. We are looking forward to a great weekend. Please pray for our safety and especially pray for Danielle that she not have any seizures. Loss of sleep is one of the triggers for these things and these trips always guarantee late nights and early mornings.

I will hopefully be able to check in during the weekend. God bless you all and thanks for being a great blog family!

Music Is For The Soul

Music is a medium that is incredible. You know the saying, Music soothes the savage beast." I think that can be true. Music can make you drive faster or slower. It can make you laugh, cry, love, and hate. It truly is powerful.

I know that playing music can do the same thing. We are getting ready for our 50's show this coming November 11. Playing those old songs is really a lot of fun. I can be in a bad mood or just not feeling well and play music and feel better.

I think music to be a gift from God. I just had that on my mind.

Losing Friendships

Losing friendships is not a good thing. It's hard enough in this world as transient and busy as life is to build good relationships. I am afraid that I am in the process of losing someone that I considered a friend. I hope that something can change and it not happen, but I fear for this particular person that they are in the process of a self-destruct.

Isn't is a helpless feeling knowing that you love someone and there's nothing you can do. I mean, you do all you can and then some. You take care to not be hurtful, and then seemingly out of the blue they are going, going, and sometimes gone.

The proverbs say, (Proverbs 18:24 NCV) "Some friends may ruin you, but a real friend will be more loyal than a brother." I wish all relationships that we love could continue, but I guess it's just not meant to be.

That's another reason to add to the great list of reasons to follow Jesus. Even though our relationships are scarred and battered, Jesus never moves. He is always with us. As He Himself once said, "I will be with you always...."
