God's Guidance

I have to tell this story! It truly is a witness to the power of the almighty. In spite of my sin and shortcomings, God has given me a blessing. It is one of faith building. It makes me look forward to prayer.

Many of you who read this will have already heard the story, but please indulge me.

This past week I had a CT Scan of my lower left rib cage area. I have been experiencing some very mild discomfort there. It really doesn't even hurt enough to call it "pain," except for the fact that I am a wimp and very allergic to any kind of pain. Ha!

While waiting on the results of the tests, Ellen was alone at the house one evening and was praying and seeking God's comfort. In her quest for comfort, she asked God to lead her to a Psalm, knowing that the book of Psalms is a wonderful place to find a cry out to God. She simply allowed the pages of the book to open and her eyes fell upon Psalm 91. It is truly a blessing to say the least. Please bless your life by reading it.

Just short clip is (Psalms 91:2-3 NLT) "This I declare of the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I am trusting him. {3} For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from the fatal plague." Over and over in the Psalm he encourages us to rest in the comfort to of the Almighty.

Today, I received the results from the tests. Praise God! The test came back normal. God has blessed me tremendously today.

What is even further amazing is that even if the tests had revealed something serious, God would still be God and I would still be his child. For one day we will all pass from this life. It is the way of the world. Since sin entered the world, death has reigned over man. But praise be to God that since Jesus arose from the dead, we can look forward to that eternal home. Where sin had made a wall, Jesus made a door!

So PRAY, TRUST, BELIEVE, and RECEIVE from Jehovah God whom we call Abba, Father. He will take care of those who love Him!!

The Power of God

So much is said in our brotherhood about worship. There are so many arguments flying around that it makes our head swim. I don't know where you are in your walk with God as you read this, but I pray that you can experience Spirit filled worship like we did today at Creekside. I don't say this to brag on us. This BLOG is not about us at all except to say that when God is allowed to be active in our lives, there is no telling where He will take us. We will probably be going places where we don't always feel comfortable.

Today we enjoyed the testimonies of several of our members answering the question, "Who is Jesus to you personally?" Jesus was very concerned with this question while He was on earth. He even asked, "Who do you say that I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." You can read the whole story in Matthew 18.

The point is that Jesus was interested in what people thought about Him. I think He is still interested. I also believe that there is power in testimony. When we begin to share with each other in worship settings who Jesus is in our lives, it is motivational. People today were moved toward an experience with God and it was wonderful to be a part of it. It moved us in ways like I have never seen.

It was all about Jesus not about us. It was truly entertaining, although that was not the purpose. It was Spirit-filled and exciting because Jesus was the focus. I pray that this is something that we can experience time and time again. It helps us all live for him better and I know that He is glorified and uplifted!

Praise you Father for Your majesty and Your salvation. Thanks for the gift of Jesus and thank you for the indwelling Holy Spirit.
