Dealing With Hurt Feelings

Have you ever been hurt by someone you thought would never do such a thing? It is one thing to be hurt by people who are not close to you, but when it's a friend--wow it hurts badly. Handling it the right way can be difficult at best.

My first reaction is to lash out and fight back. How dare them to hurt me their "friend." Their acting more like a "fiend" than a friend.

Then comes the feelings of wanting to hurt back with the "silent treatment." This one really gets them. I'll just ignore them and let them feel bad for what they have done. Let them sweat for days about it. Trouble with that is you don't know if that hurst enough.

Maybe next comes the option of gossip and let others in on the pain. After all if I'm hurt bad enough, others need to comfort me and especially those who feel similar to how I feel about things.

No matter what the reaction it seems like we wait till the last option to do what the Lord has called us to do. It's easy to do all the wrong things, but it takes a Christ follower to realize that Jesus said to "love your enemies" and to "do good to those who persecute and spitefully use you." God has called us in a world of evil to come out and be separate based upon Jesus being our Lord. It is one of those easy to understand concepts, but difficult to do at best. God help us to do and to be our best in Jesus name!!

A Moving Experience

Well, after a long time away from the blog scene, I hope I'm back. It's still hard to tell at this point. I'm sitting in the living room watching The Eagles Farewell Tour 1 and looking at a room still full of boxes and clutter. Things are starting to take on somewhat of a shape, however.

We really feel blessed to be in our own home. I really appreciate your prayers. I feel God's hand in all this. Everything with the closing went off without so much as a bad sneeze. The sellers were very nice. The real estate agents got along well and we even walked away from closing with money back. How strange is that?

As for celebration, that's coming, but I just don't know when. Steve, you can provide the drinks and maybe we could coax Greg and Randy to fly out for a praise band gig and a BBQ.

I want to just say how much I appreciate the Creekside church family for the unbelievable way in which you showed up to help. We had about 25 people, 7 or 8 trucks and about 5 trailers. We moved a household of six in just 4 hours and barely two trips. Amazing!! Thanks to all of you.

Please pray for our family that we will settle into our new home and use it to God's glory.
