Friendships and Space

Today was a really "strange" sort of day. It did not start off very well, but things are better now. Friendships in Christ have pulled me through another rough morning. That has happened so many times in my life.

I got a phone call a couple of days ago from my good friend, Greg in CA. We talked a good while (It was his dime) and our relationship is stronger again. He announced to me that he was going to be at Creekside today and he was. What an encouragement brother. Thanks for being there.

Another friend, Drew, from Creekside also helped me through the day. I feel such a bond of "brotherness" between us. I appreciate him so much for his being willing to let God guide his life.

Both of these men are dear to me as are many more people in my life. The interesting thing about all this the the physical space that separates us. Greg is in California, Drew and myself are here in Alabama. Yet there is no space between friends in Jesus. We are linked to one another. Through the family of God, and that's a big family, we are inseparable. God accepts us, words and all and we in turn do the same for one another. God help our relationships.

  • I know what you mean Keith. Greg hasn't been "my preacher" since 1992. However, he has always remained one of my best friends. Our families are closer than any "blood" family that I have. I’m glad that you have chosen to cast your lot with us. It can be a fun ride. Maybe we’ll see you at Zoe.
