Youth Sports

Once again I have seen controversy at the ball field. I'm so frustrated with it all so much that telling the whole story is becoming redundant.
In a nutshell, people don't follow the rules, get themselves in a pickle, I try and be merciful, get accused of making a farce of the game, dad wants to know girl's stats more than having fun, needle, needle, needle from opposite team's coaches, coaches won't even shake hands at the end of the game. Just your average night at the ball field any more.
If it weren't so sad, it would be laughable. I don't think I will ever coach again. I think I will let my kids play for someone else. So frustrating.
My wife and I lay awake the next morning after this "incident" just wondering out loud, "When did it stop being fun for the kids? When did it start being for the stats, the coaches, and the parents?"
I hope that someday I can make a difference in our area for the kids. Maybe this is as big a dream as my previous post.

It must be very tough, but I would encourage you to continue, if you can handle it, for coaches seem to leave a huge mark on one or two kids each season, and that can change a life. Really.
