The Bug That Wouldn't Fly
Little creatures in the world amaze me. Even the scriptures talk about the ant and how resourceful he is.Today I saw a little insect about the size of a gnat (why the put a "g" in front of that word I'll never know). Anyway, I reached up to smash the little guy with my mighty hand! He crawled away. I tried several times and finally he decided to stop. I knew I had him this time. I reached to hit him and he did something that surprised me--he flew away. Imagine that, he could fly. I knew that it was only a matter of time before I could get him, but he flew! Do you get the picture? No not the fact that a grown man is trying to kill this little insect, but the message I saw in it.
Aren't we just like that in our spiritual walk somtimes? Satan is continually trying to smash us and we try and crawl away all the while knowing that we have the ability to fly. Isaiah said, "But those who wait upon GOD get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don't get tired, they walk and don't lag behind." Isaiah 40:31
Let's purpose in our hearts to never crawl again!

Great post Keith. Perhaps you should use the "Shock and Awe" approach and toss a M-80 at it?
I'm reminded of another scripture:
I Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.

It's always the waiting that gets me!

Great thoughts, Keith. We rely far too often on our own puny abilities. It's like shooting a cap gun at Satan when there's Someone standing behind us holding a howitzer.
